Local aspects
In the industrial port zone of Le Havre

FRANCE KEREAUZEN is located at the northeastern end of the industrial port zone, on HAROPA PORT’s Grand Canal du Havre site, previously occupied by a Lafarge cement plant. On this site, FRANCE KEREAUZEN will benefit from all infrastructures, industrial processes and know-how available in the area, which will foster its development —particularly through the re-use of existing oil infrastructure to transport SAF to airports.
Multiple benefits for the region
FRANCE KEREAUZEN is fully aligned with the dynamics of the Le Havre area, a major industrial basin and pioneer in decarbonization and energy transition. The project has been awarded the “Le Havre, Ville portuaire intelligente” label.
ENGIE is determined to contribute to the reindustrialization of the area: FRANCE KEREAUZEN will provide over 100 direct jobs. It is in close contact with elected representatives, training organizations and universities to ensure that local job supply and demand are matched.
ENGIE is also keen to develop long-term partnerships and exchanges with a wide range of local players. First and foremost, energy exchanges (hydrogen, waste heat) and the recovery of significant quantities of CO₂ from industrial players in Le Havre and along the Seine Axis form the foundation of the project’s circular economy approach. An academic collaboration has already been initiated with several higher education institutions of the Le Havre and Normandy region.
